Testing blogging from Microsoft Word 2007 Home & Student Edition
posted by Justin D. Pereira
Well, I bought Microsoft Office 2007 last month and I just only realised ( so ashamed ) that it has this new nifty blogging tool. It seems quite cool but I am still not sure yet on how to publish photos to either my own server or to blogger's server. Still, it simplifies blogging a whole lot more as I really do not like to go to a browser and blog, furthermore their posting services in blogger in unreliable for me. Sometimes, the system cannot find its server and all my content cannot get published.
To all oldees of the Student Council. This was the cover page of the booklet which was given out during assembly when we were invested under the 1st Student Council. A very inspiring piece I must say, I will post the other pages online soon. Hold on and you can remember the good old days =)
Yes yes, to all secondary 1 students of Sembawang Secondary in 2005 ( most of you guys are sec 3 now ), this was the cover page of your orientation camp booklet. "Courage to Lead". Once again, another cover page which I designed for all the campers in Sembawang Secondary. This was the first time our school values of ExCITe were introduced.
Not knowing why now I am posting all my past works online, it seems I have this old feeling of nostalgia and that urge to share it with others. Nonetheless, there are more to come, so enjoy!
Yes yes I know. This logo can be found on the school t-shirts of the secondary 1 orientation camp BONDS @ SEMBAWANG. I designed it of course, although I have to say that more could be done about the frontal design....hmmmm. Anyway, this logo stands for Ex - Excellence C - Commitment I - Integrity Te - Teamwork
The 4 core values of our school. All credit goes to the author who made the image of the 4 people for making this logo possible =)
I just realised how stupid I looked like with short hair...lucky I went for a fasion change...Anyway, this pictures is the 1st graduating Students' Council of Sembawang Secondary School. We stepped down ( not all of them ) in 2006 for the new executives and councillors. I can say that we were a very strong close bunch together. I really enjoyed their friendship, its something that I feel is still lacking in this new school of mine.
my feelings are in a whirl....help me keep them under control....

I really cannot define what has to be done nowadays. Constantly facing the social pressure of the fear of being ostracized while another will in me tells me to control the class even though I am not a class leader. I have found out just one very shocking observation which I hope will not be true as I grow with my class over the months. It is sad when a task is being given, the will in them to work together as a class and finish it is simply not there. Having grown in Sembawang Secondary, the environment there and here is simply a clash of two very different cultures. The culture of self-spiritedness and fun-loving against that of an only can't-be-bothered attitude.
I cannot blame them entirely, as today's programme had a few flaws here and there, but overall it was quite good. Maybe my expectations are simply too high for them, I cannot accept it, but I believe I must adapt to their characteristics while I try to change. Still, my values and beliefs will not be moved, and you can expect a different Justin to appear when you next see me.
Just finished watching Dead Poet's Society and I have to say that it is a very touching movie for all you Humanities fans out there. The movie highlights some very true facts about today's world in which Humanities is being placed in.
Has Humanities become a subject where it is measured in grades? More specifically, has literature of today's subject drifted so much from the true nature of what it really is. The heart, soul passion of a person, can it be portrayed in terms or marks. A literature person may not necessarily be a writer who is able to pen down his thoughts but still his sensitive and analytical mind is able to reach out to all those around him through the power of his speech.
Has literature become that to be judged against the hypothetical assumptions of Chemistry and systematic procedures of Mathematics ? What has it become?
A real question which we must answer ourselves, while sadly we still live in a world where grades are usually what most people aim towards.
Just got the news yesterday from my secondary school that during this year's speech day, I am going to be awarded the Outstanding Student Award 2006 along with 4 other awards. They are...
Top in English Top in Literature Top in Physics & High Achievements in 2006 GCE "O" Level Examinations in Sembawang Secondary School
Hopefully, something nice will come along my way =)
Its been some time since I last posted, over two weeks I think. Not that I don't want to but its just that I have no time now that I am in a junior college. Schoolwork is tough and its going to be an arduous two years of my life. I am now beginning to like my new class as there is an interesting mix of people with different characters and attitudes. It is different though from my previous class 29/07 where the atmosphere was very friendly and warm. Not to say that 17/07 isn't friendly but they tend to mix in their own cliques and its not easy getting along with them that way. Still no effort to be wasted, I am still one of the class!
all right everyone..i got into AJC. hope the future holds true for me there and may i find the wishes i want.
For all you guys out there who made it into your dream institution, congratulations and good luck. However, those who did not make it, do not fret. Reflect on your past mistakes and see where you have gone wrong and what you could try to improve. So perhaps this is still not yet the time for you to shine, but you have to make that opportunity happen for you to succeed.
Once again, a great big congratulations and best wishes for the year ahead for all of you =).
Difference in man The soul of mankind is not one easily understood. It may wander, it may falter, and sometimes it may just be that of a different kind. However, it is when a man’s own vow to his partner is broken by himself, will be the time when his soul has drifted from his body and he becomes no longer the person whom he used to be. Just imagine the angst, the pain which this man is causing. Is it truly worth it for him to seek pleasures with another? There are so many issues to solve, simply matters to comprehend, but he had to choose this. Is it worth it? I would say he is behaving like that of a child. The sophisticated and matured man has become that of a child who rants and wants his way in every possible aspect of life. He demands respect, but does he give respect? He demands love but has he treated his partner with love. He wants attention, but feels none is given. What then has he gained? He has gained nothing but the mere thought that everyone else is despising him and treating him as worthless like a piece of dirt. His pride becomes hurt, he self-esteem drops, and he wants someone to treat him like a human. When he feels everything is low, he needs to be wanted. He looked beyond the doors of his family and finds entertainment through others with their sheer facade of money-crazed looks. He thinks they are able to provide him solace, a sense of belonging, a feel of respect, but what do they actually want? This man has become fooled by this aspect of monetary happiness while he abandoned his true pleasure and joyfulness in life. Is this matured of him? Such is the evil nature of man, where greed for desire is a behemoth amongst the animals. His partner then tries to restrain him, but she fails. She tries and tries again but nothing moves. He has become as immobile as a boulder. His own perspectives to where his true opinions lie are blinded by his allure’s bluff towards happiness. His principles have changed and he becomes no longer the man which his partner once knew of. Another member of the family steps in trying to patch the problem. The boy, matured enough in his thoughts to know what is occurring around him, tries to close the widening gap between the two people whom he had always loved in his life. This boy is confused, he does not know what to do but he does not want to see this happen. Although all his life he had to live with the differences and tempers of each person, this time round, the impact was the worst of all. The evil which he feels from his idol wrenches his heart like a dry cloth being drained of all drops of water. It hurts, but he is left in a state of bewilderment. Each persuasion technique he uses against the man of his life to reconcile the broken keystone between the latter’s bridge of marriage is nothing to be thought of. The man shouts back, argues back and even cries in front of him. He complains and questions why, why scold him, what wrong has he done? The very issue that the man is still behind a veil of his self-indulgence leaves the boy in a situation of self-doubt. Can his idol be reclaimed from the clutches of sin and misdeeds? The man thinks he is justified in his arguments and actions but when his partner so happens to overhear his lewd conversation with a friend, he tries to strangle her. He shouts at her, he throw things at her. Nonetheless, it is apparent that he has slid into the very characteristic which he did not want to carry, fear. He becomes frightened that his ideas and thoughts have been discovered by the unexpected person in his life. That fear has transformed him, from a man into a beast. What has this man become? The breakdown in his soul to that of an animal who has no sense of propriety and morality is a colossal impact to all those around him.
