Recipe : Pan-fried greasy grouper

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Ingredients:
- 1 greasy grouper fish fillet

- salt
- plain flour
-1 stalk green onion, chopped

Method:
1. Heat up a medium sized frying pan with about 3 tablespoons of oil on a medium fire.
2. Wash the fillet with water and a rub it with salt. Rinse it again. While the oil is heating up, lightly sprinkle some salt and plain flour ( about 1/2 tablespoon ) on both sides of the fish fillet. Rub gently to spread evenly on both sides.

3. Place the fish in the heated pan and do not move the fish for 5 minutes. This is to obtain and nice golden brown colour on one side and prevent the fillet from breaking.
4. After about 5 minutes, turn the fish and cook the other side.

5. Place in a dish and with the remaining oil, pour some of it on the fillet. Drizzle the fillet with light soy sauce and serve.

Tips:
Corn flour can be used instead of plain flour.

If you find that the fish is not cooked thoroughly, you can place it in a microwave oven on high for 1 minute.

Side dish : pan fried egg plant

Just bought a new badminton racquet at a big big discount!

posted by Justin D. Pereira

I just purchased the Yonex Titanium Pro Series 801 Super which came out in 2004..haha...2 years later. Still, a racquet is a racquet and it is definitely much better than the Carbonex 3 which I was using for the past 4 months.

Fitted with the multi-purpose string of BG65, the racquet features a gold and black finish. Not bad though at a price of SGD 79.90 with a free bag and Tee. Although I could have sworn that the lady could have given me a bigger and more durable bag..hmph.
Can't wait to try it out.
By the way, tomorrow will be the last day I am posting from Singapore, thereafter on the 25th, all blog postings will be done from Hainan Island! Look out for picts!

Macbook rocks....I think...yup!

posted by Justin D. Pereira

I am doing most of my blogging on my Macbook 13.3 inches ( white ), and I can say that the performance of it is not too bad. Slightly faster than my desktop with a 1.83 Dual Core Intel Processor.

Specifications of Macbook :
- Operating System : Mac OS X Tiger & Windows XP Home Edition ( bootcamp )
- Processor Speed : Intel 1.83GHZ Dual Core
- Memory : 512 MB
- Hard Disk : 60GB

The good feature I would like to say about this Macbook is that although it does not have a dedicated graphics card, the intel graphics chip serves its purpose as well. It can go as high up to 128mb of the system memory to act as that of graphics memory, so must of the games installed went without a hitch .. on Windows XP of course.

I just wish there were more free software for Intel MacOSx. However, for my work production, XP serves its purpose but while I need it for entertainment, Mac OS X is excellent.

An excellent system overall, but could do better in performance upgrades and the weight. ( 2.3kg is no joke )

Badminton Frenzy

posted by Justin D. Pereira

I don't know what has gotten into me till I played badminton for nearly 5 hours straight ( with breaks in between ). However, the real test came when Alex joined us and formed a doubles team. He was good, but Anthony kept smacking the shuttlecock into his body. Ohhhh...and not to forget that Ant also smack the shuttlecock into my right temple on my head....(That guy...)

Anyway, we played for about 3 sets and then outsiders intruded ( or in this case wanted to join us....were we falling apart ? lol ) Their skills were above average with one of the girls having the ability to smack consecutively or it could also be called a power drop shot. Michel was the only one somewhat out of the game with his rusty skills. Nonetheless, we were glad to have him join us.

So sad Leroy could not make it...or we could have thrashed him as well.

Finally....the upgrade...

Blogger has finally moved on to Blogger 2 ( or so called by me ) with tons of improved features and stuff. However, what makes me more pleased is that I hope there will be less posting problems due to the transition. Do You Know how much posts i have let lying dead on the ground ( erm...i mean desktop )...

Let's just hope that this very post works !!!

Badminton today....please...

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Stupid rain. Rain rain all day, week, month long. Just when I do not want to play, the blazing sun is out there mocking me feriociously. It seems an irony to what is happening. However, it is still the idiosyncrasy of humans to challenge the will of nature, and that although we know that it would rain, we still would want to play.

Anyway, this is the very image on my desktop now, and it is sooooo soothing. Coming from the future Windows Vista Desktop collection, I am amazed at it. From all the research I have done online and the numerous reviews through the Vista Release Candidates, I am forced to admit that Microsoft has gotten even better. Although I am a Mac User as well, I am still excited about its release as the competition between companies have become much more interesting!

my english is failing me....

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Note : There is a grammatical error which I am so embarrassed of in this sentence.

The avid rain and wind was ( were ) a drenchour drencheour dampener to this beautiful game.

Forgive me.

Crabs...crap ?

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Haha, I remember this picture. Took it when my father cooked Curry something crab.It was quite delicious although I do not favour crabs like the rest of the family. I simply do not favour freaking shell food with long pincers that pinch your tongue. Augh....

The past few days have proved uneventful for any sport outdoors, especially badminton. The avid rain and wind was a drenchour drencheour dampener to this beautiful game. Imagine you hit the shuttlecock high up in the air and a sudden gust of wind just blows it to the left while you were going to hit it. Imagine the frustration!

It is perhaps with greater interest that my friend, or fiend, Anthony, bought a $126 badminton racket which sports a sleek gold metallic finish. Hehe...can't wait to dent it. Don't tell him that. Let's just hope something unfortunate happens. Okay, okay, i am not so bad, but it was also him with his ridiculous strength that actually detached the racket shaft from the handle. Strong ?
