My Birthday Today!

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Haha! I turn 17 today and its so different! especially that I have two elder "brothers" and two younger "brother". Lol, I am the middle one.... Anyway, got the set of Eragon from those guys and thanks man...haven't read it yet though I saw the show and I must say I did not like the ending...it was way too short...

So my mum and dad both got me a 1gb ram...yes yes...read my previous post and they did not come cheap.. About $120 each, I maxed out my ram on my laptop...yeah! Then a stupid think which Leroy thought of was to go back to my secondary school. Not that I did not want to enter, but its just doesn't seem right now that we are not part of the school anymore. So anyway, got a visitors pass with Anthony, Leroy didn't, and we wanted to visit the teachers in the school. Unfortunately, they were mostly gone for the day. But, we still managed to get hold of Mdm. Phang and what a lively chat it was. Talk crap like nobody's business..Haha, still love chem, because of her. Ask me to spy somemore...hmph...how degrading...but maybe I will....hehe

watch out -_-

Finally...new memory...

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Yippee! Just bought 2 X 1GB DDR2 667MHZ 5300 Notebook memory and added it to my macbook. Now, this baby has a blazing speed of 2000mb in terms of memory. I could open plenty of applications, do CD burning with hardly a lag. Quite a big improvement since my 512mb days.

Well, the main target for myself is to obtain Windows Vista and a few other specific upgrades. Let's list them down.

2GB Memory ( accomplished )
150GB Notebook 2.5' hard disk ( pending )
Apple's Boot Camp Final Release ( pending )
Microsoft's Windows Vista ( pending )
Microsoft Office 2007 Student and Teacher edition ( pending )

I assume the entire works of all to be about SGD800, so let's hope my parents strike 4D or something like that...or maybe a donation ?

Found a great pic...

Last year's Student Council reunion for the sec 4s at Innova JC. Great times we had although we left with a melted drain, burnt bbq food, heavy rain...blah blah...still it was fun. Those were the great times, hope to see them all again soon! My hearts goes out for all of them.

JC PE : exhausted...stressed...tired...lethargic

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Damn it, this was like one of the first beginner's Physical Education lessons and I am starting to feel worn out. Luckilly, the strength training plus badminton playing for the past 2 months have allowed me to accomplish a number of chin-ups ( with support of course. )

Sigh...too tired to comment but hope everything goes well! Yeah! PE this Wednesday...

Photo Log Trip To Hainan

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Okay, I am very fed up with the current state of internet. Yes I know about that earthquake disrupting land lines all over. However, I promised that my photos will be up so I uploaded them to my personal server via FTP and not through blogger's uploading prowess.

So, if you want to see photos from Hainan including my family and me, click the link below.

Transparency Software for Windows : Glass2k

posted by Justin D. Pereira

One thing great about this software which has been in the market for quite some time is the simplicity of its usage and it being FREE. Yes, free.

Glass2k transparency programme even remembers your settings from your prior changes, and it creates a visually appealing aspect to your Windows Operating System. Something which is going to appear in the Microsoft's latest Operating System. Take a look at a few snapshots below with and without Glass2k effects.

Without Glass2k effects

The same folder with Glass2k effects

Amazing isn't it. With the effects, you could make your step closer to having an Operating System like Windows Vista.

Windows Vista Photo Competition

posted by Justin D. Pereira

Well, I recently just discovered that Microsoft Singapore has started a competition last year for avid photographers to submit pictures of Singapore landscape and scenery. All in a hype to promote the visual aspect of Windows Vista. Not that the prizes are not attractive, the real competition is that the quality of photos submitted so far are very good. Excellent, even.

Who knows, I may participate in it and perhaps to fellow Singporeans out there, ( or does one need to be a Singaporean ? ), take part and lets enjoy the shoot!

Windows Vista...hype.

Stress beyond the stress level...

posted by Justin D. Pereira

The school term has started and I am currently in AJC. Much to my sheer joy, the work load is simply piling up slowly but surely. Imagine taking back about 8 assignments just for 1 subject...lol...an estimation. The various subjects such as GP and Maths have certainly become more tedious and it is way beyond the standards of O Levels. What to do except to work hard and score!..while I wait for my O Level result.

Windows Vista is drawing nearer..."waiting with anticipation"

posted by Justin D. Pereira

The date to Windows Vista's release is looming ever closer. On the 30th of January 2007, Microsoft's latest operating system will be out for retail sale. I simply can't wait for it to arrive and especially so since the 30th is conincidentally my birthday! hint...hint...;)

Although my anxiousness is there, I simply know that my laptop cannot support it. There's only 512mb of RAM and not enough space on the hardisk to install the operating system. So now with my Windows XP, I installed a shell explorer pack called Vista Transformation Pack from
http://www.windowsxlive.net. The programme disguises your XP look to that of Vistas together with nifty add ons such as the sidebar, the beautiful start menu orb and the explorer's interface. Take a look at the new interface of my Windows XP. Honest!

Singapore's Budget Terminal DFS...damn budget...together with my cousin

( Wonder where he is looking ? )

Breakfast at Han's bistro at the budget terminal...Good food at moderately high prices.. Not a bad place to visit. I only manage to upload these two images before Blogger's uploading service went kaput...sigh..will try again tomorrow.

There and back again....

My trip to Hainan Island, located at the southern tip of Mainland China was a truly unforgettable experience ( Omigosh! This sounds so much like a primary school composition ). Anyway, from this post on, i will be uploading photos which my uncle ( husband of my aunty who is the elder sister of my mother, whom I call Ah Bo, and thus I call him Bo De ) and I have taken throughout the various trips in Hainan Island.

Hopefully, I can compile these photos to a disk and give them to all those who went for the trip. Lol.

However, there is ONE BIG THING I MUST COMPLAIN ABOUT. the extremely slow internet service in China....especially since my website could not be accessed at all and I couldn't tell whether the server was down or whatever not!!!

There, that's that, and now for the photos!
